If your box is well connected in USB 3.2, try to see if your disk, what model is it?
Otherwise you can try to update but I don't know if that solves your problem, to see
I don't expect 5Gbs but at least 1Gbs

No Alien Invader explains that to take advantage of the 1Gbps transfer rate for the SSD, you must connect the box to a 10Gbps port
Example of USB 3.2 port speed
USB 3.2 1x1 = 5Gbps = 500Mbps SSD transfer rate (Read/Write)
USB 3.2 2X1 =10Gbps = 1000Mbps SSD transfer rate( Read/Write)
USB 3.2 2x2 = 20Gbps = 2000Mbps = 2000Mbps SSD transfer rate (Read/Write)
Example of USB 3.2 port speed
USB 3.2 1x1 = 5Gbps = 500Mbps SSD transfer rate (Read/Write)
USB 3.2 2X1 =10Gbps = 1000Mbps SSD transfer rate( Read/Write)
USB 3.2 2x2 = 20Gbps = 2000Mbps = 2000Mbps SSD transfer rate (Read/Write)
Configuration
Asus Z790 Pro Art, Intel Cpu I7 14700K, Memoires 32Go Corsair DDR5 (6000Mhz CL30), Water-cooling Thermaright, nVidia Geforce RTX3060, Alimentation Asus ROG 850W, Samsung SSD 990 Pro, SSD980 Pro, Clavier Roccat Vulkan , Souris Asus, Boitier NZXT H6, HP Creative SB Kratos Free Fibre 10Gb Cable CAT8/7, Switch 10/5/2.5Gbps, Casque Philips Fedelis.

Anyone has a clue if the NVME-TO-USB adapters like the 9210B can initialize the Host Memory Buffer feature of the newer NVME SSD's ?

I have a Unionsine MD202, dumped the config, flashed the latest fw from this topic and it works, though it is strange that I could not write 00 - as there is 20 again dumping the flashed unit...
